Sleepy-Time Yoga: Making Story-Time Extra Relaxing
Sometimes bedtime is a little hectic and the kiddos a little restless. Incorporating some yoga into the bedtime routine can be helpful in creating a peaceful space for kids to sleep. While practicing a full set of poses might not always be practical, something simple like a little breath exercise could work well.
Try a simple technique like counting with the breath. Breathe in to a count of 3, breathe out to a count of 3. Older kids can inhale and exhale longer as their lung capacity increases.
You can also take your bedtime storybook and do a few calm yoga poses or breaths that match parts of the story.
