Yoga Brings Me Gratitude
Dear Friends,
With Thanksgiving just behind us, I am reminded how grateful I am for family, for friends, for a roof over my head and delicious food to eat. Most of all I am grateful for being alive, this chance to be here on this beautiful living planet, this chance to breathe, to move, to feel and most of all to connect with others, to feel love. I am reminded of all these things every time I step on my mat to practice or guide a group of children through a yoga class.
Here I am in Northern California visiting my brand new baby niece and I am reminded of what yoga taught me years ago, that I get to connect. I get to connect with my breath everytime I take time to be on my mat. I get to connect with my body as I begin to move and do yoga. I get to connect with my knowing self, full of thoughts of how I am filled with love and gratitude seeing this tiny new human being who is the epitomy of sweetness and life. Being present in each moment, this is my yoga practice.
Sweet baby Wren, she is completely innocent and full of love and seeing her brings me to my happy place, just like when I am on my mat.
I've made it one of my life's dedications to teach yoga to people of all ages and meet each person right where they are, from tiny babies to adults. I'm fascinated by the human body, this container for energy. It grows and changes so much from early childhood to adulthood and the exploration of how we move, create, breathe and exist in each stage as we grow is beautiful.
This is why I am so excited by our Chakra Kids Yoga Teacher Training offerings coming up in 2016. Join us for one or all of them and jump in with us as we explore each stage of childhood and connect with our inner child!
Love & Light,
Liz Shakti
